Its so pretty hot these days in Puducherry. The temperatures are souring day by day in India and the scorching heat that drains our well stored energies. So this time why not we spend our time with nature to get rid of this heat and also get a solace to your heart. Here we have come to the city garden known to be called as “THE BOTANICAL GARDEN“. One of the most popular and very well-known location situated at the southern entrance of the city bus stand in Ambedkar  Nagar.

Let us give a great applause to the founder of the botanical garden – G.S.PERROTTET who had worked as a government botanist in Puducherry from 1843 until his death.

This garden has always fulfilled all the desires of the people from an infant to an old man. This place has always been a leisure place to be spent with friends as well as family. We would love to state that this is not a garden but a place for a kid to enjoy, for a teen to take snaps and have fun around with friends and for our elders and senior citizens its a calm, peaceful and a meditating place. The speciality over here is that you can have a view of a Petrified Fossil in which it involves the process of turning a living organic material into a stone. There was a shoot going on this location so you could see it go green.

Here we can find different kinds of plant species and this garden also contains a small museum where one can gain knowledge about the different types of species and you can even find a library here for bookworms why not visit this place for a change to learn about the plant species.
